Naturopathic Medical Student | Researcher | Advocate for Holistic Health
Claire Burnight is a naturopathic medical student at Bastyr University in San Diego, dedicated to reconnecting human health with the intelligence of the natural world. Her work bridges science, spirit, and ecology, exploring how the body’s innate wisdom and nature’s design can guide us toward true healing and vitality.
Claire earned her undergraduate degree in Human Development and Aging from the University of Southern California, where she also completed her pre-medical studies. Following graduation, she conducted research in the Curran Lab at USC, investigating how genetics and nutrition influence longevity and healthspan—work that deepened her fascination with the biological and emotional dimensions of wellbeing.
At the age of 24, Claire was diagnosed with a brain tumor—an experience that profoundly transformed her understanding of medicine and healing. What began as a health crisis became a powerful awakening, leading her to pursue naturopathic medicine, where evidence-based science meets soul-centered healing.
Guided by the belief that the body is inseparable from the Earth that sustains it, Claire’s approach blends modern medical insight with the timeless wisdom of nature. Her passion lies in whole-person healing, helping others rediscover the innate vitality that emerges when mind, body, and environment exist in harmony.
Drawing inspiration from the interconnectedness of all life, Claire’s vision is to cultivate a model of medicine that honors both complexity and beauty. Her mission is to empower others to live vibrantly—rooted in nature, guided by curiosity, and awake to the wonder of being human.
